As I was laying in bed this morning, I was thinking of a song by Amy Grant called Grown-Up Christmas List....and the idea for what I would want this year..... - Peace. This world of ours is honestly in chaos, in so many corners of the globe, and if our world ever needed peace, it is these days. - Love and Kindness. Perhaps it should go without saying, but we all should ratchet it down a little and be a little sweeter, kinder, more empathetic and more understanding. - Health. So very many families have had to deal with so much tragedy this year with loss of friends, family members, and people who are important to them. - Safety. We have been so reminded lately how life can change so fast, in an instant in fact, with the passing of a car, the running of a red light, that one more drink you had to have.....and they have resulted in life changing situations. - Paying It Forward. Take some initiative, write a check, buy some groceries, or hold open a door and smile. Its amazing how one kind act can inspire others. There is a family that is dealing with challenges that most of us could not fathom...The family of John and Kathy Faircloth. Their daughter Jackie is at The Shepard Center in Atlanta recovering from a serious brain injury. Although she is moving her hands and feet, and is breathing on her own, she remains in a coma. Send your prayers of love and healing to her so that she can wake up. Send your prayers of support and encouragement to the family....and to the medical treatment team in Atlanta so that they may have powers of healing. And send your love...it really means something when your back is against the wall, that people care. I was inspired by our sweet communitys support of this family to write a song.... I hope it reaches you like it has reached me and others. I keep replaying the words in my head.....and thinking of the family and how their lives changed in a flash. Send them some love. #HangingOnAPrayer
