As I was on my way home from school, my mom told me about a news report of a woman in California who had a Mexican flag in her front yard and was called out for it, because it is Un-American, according to a city council candidate by the name of Tressy Capps. I did not think much of it then, because I could not perceive what the problem was with flying a Mexican flag in ones front yard. As soon as I got home, I researched the article and watched the video that Ms. Tressy Capps uploaded to her YouTube channel (I will add the link below). It is truly unbelievable how ignorant some people can be. Maybe flying the Mexican flag in American territory really is Un-American, but there were other ways that Ms. Capps could have made it clear to the woman. Ms. Capps did not have to 1. go into the womans property to 2. interrogate the woman in English, even after the woman mentions to her that she does not speak English and 3. practically humiliate the woman by telling her to move back to Mexico. WHO DOES THAT? Is Ms. Capps a Xenophobic? I am honestly at loss for words. This really bothered me, because my mother is Mexican herself and she does not speak English either, so when I watched the video, I imagined my mother in that womans place. I feel like a volcano that is about to explode. Please go watch the video and tell me that what Ms. Capps did is justifiable. Because I, myself, do not see it. https://youtube/watch?v=lNIWKX4Tfj0
