As I was travelling down I-59 today I had the radio on my favorite channel, SCAN. All of a sudden I heard and old familiar tune. It was the Mary Jane Girls-In My House. It made me stop and remember Delight Pruett. Some where in her mind she decided I had told her this was my favorite song. I dont remember doing so, but she remained convinced. We had stopped to get gas on our way to Florida, the cashier had propped both doors open going into the store. As I stood at the cash register paying, Delight pulled the hood of the Cadillac in between the doors of the store and lowered all the windows and cranked up the volume so I could hear the song! Ha! The cashier looked like he was getting ready to call 911 or pop a cap in us! Ha! Heading back, I had to get on the interstate by the BJCC. I saw the steps where we waited to go into a Whitney Houston concert. Delight had gotten me to agree to call in sick and go to the concert, she kept saying no one will ever know....as we were standing in line I realized my boss was just in front of us. Oh, how I miss her and her free spirit.
