As I watch the fire coverage, I feel a wide array of emotions. I understand that fire is a force of nature with awesome power and I feel frustration and compassion for those who have been evacuated and have to wait to find out if they still have a home. I feel great admiration for the men and women on the ground and in the air risking their lives to preserve lives and property. I have a hard time seeing the animals in makeshift shelters having to deal with this sudden change in their lives. Last, but certainly not least, I feel great anger and distain when I hear about the heartless and gutless cowards who take advantage of these situation to scam others in the name of charity or good will, or, even worse, the looters in the evacuation areas. These people absolutely disgust me.
