As I watch the flooding I am reminded of a news story I watched last year about the homeless in Las Vegas. I believe the report claimed there are over a thousand homeless living underground in Las Vegas, mainly in storm water tunnels. Recently, the state of Utah watched an expensive home crushed in North Salt Lake and then donated so the family could rebuilt. What will people do for the homeless in Las Vegas who have lost everything with this flood? A small part of the cost of that North Salt Lake home could probably be more than enough to provide a comfortable setup for all of those who lived in the storm water tunnels in Las Vegas. But will people set up a fund and donate? I doubt it.
