As I watched the Dutch Military give full military honours to the MH17 flight victims today, I could not help but remember my sentiments as a teenager in 1992 as I watched what I felt was a dishonour of the victims of the Hercules C130 flight (who by the way were military men). I remember how pained I was as I noticed that the Nigerian flags that were used to cover the coffins had to be held down with stones on top of the coffins because the flags were not long enough to be properly wrapped around the coffin. Someone got that contract and couldnt even be bothered to ensure that the Flags were long enough, someone awarded the contract and couldnt even be bothered to ensure that it met the right standards. I cannot forget the sight. I still remember it like yesterday. May The soul of This nation be converted to embrace the truth. Amen.
