As I write this message we have received more than $5000usd (€4,100) in donations!!! We’ve really come a long way! What progress! Just think: we started raising funds for the Water Well Project in Burkina Faso (bouassa.org/en) only 4 short months ago! However, the goal is much greater and I am confident that we will make it! We are actually not that far from the FIRST MILESTONE we set of $8,000usd. The well-drilling alone varies from country to country across Africa; in Burkina Faso it costs roughly $8,000 (€6,500) That will get the borehole drilled, concrete slab laid and the pump installed. However, that can only be the beginning… unfortunately there are too many water-wells like this one across Africa that have been drilled and 1-2 years later they break down and no one is there to repair them. That is why we have designed an entire SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT project around this well in order to ensure that the well will be in operation many years down the road. In addition, the larger project involves creating jobs in the village, as well as other sources of food as well as a sanitation unit… Enough to get anyone excited!!!! If you want more details just email me your and I will send you a document that explains things in much greater detail… In mid-January, two of us leave for Burkina Faso and it would really be wonderful if we would have reached our first milestone!
