As Im sitting on this shuttle heading to the airport, I had to take a moment to think about, I mean really think about this journey. Conclusion: I have been extremely blessed, regardless of any and all struggles that have came my way, here are some truisms: Football shelf life as a player was cut short, why so I could begin a career as a Coach, but not until I had been accepted into one if the greatest Universities in the world (a private one at that), I have a cup of Joe in Canada and Merced with Football and Baseball, start coaching, acting, bodyguarding and working in Corporate America. Blessed with many opps along the journey, met many great people and made great friendships. Blessed with an opportunity to be a Dad/Father to three amazing kids, experience love, loss and pain. . This walk has exposed me to: humility, pain, joy, fear, uncertainty,heartbreak,disappointment, happinesses, excitement, serenity and peace. This game has allowed me to have access to: higher education, the highest level of athletics, mentorships, wins, losses, championships, legacies, history, lifelong friends, foreign countries, memories, experience and experiences, and do things that are from dreams. This group of men that I am leaving are. Great group of MEN, that have a wealth of knowledge not just on the gridirion but in life. Over 1,000 years of Football experience was in my midst and I in its midst. The group I return to is a family of good MEN and families that are selfless and dedicated to making a difference. Which all leads me to this moment that I sit back and look to God saying thank you for his game plan, my game plan was not in the same universe.
