My prediction: As soon as the West can cancel all their weak sanctions without losing too much face they will do it. The simple fact is that Europe needs russian oil and gas too much, and both US and Europe need russian cooperation on Iran and Syria. US is also becoming increasingly concerned that sanctions are pushing Russia too close to China, who is becoming the strongest economy in the world and is competing with US more and more across the globe.
