As Kevin Hall said, this couldve been the stance that got MLK Jr. killed. Even MLKs civil rights colleagues were not inclined to go along with him and speak out against U.S. war on foreigners and so many of the civil rights leaders left Kings side when he spoke out against the Vietnam War. Somehow, now that MLK Jr. has a federal holiday, history is being revised to only mention his domestic civil rights work and not his (consistency in) opposing war on foreign people. I have not seen the new film Selma so my question would be does it only focus on Kings taking on civil rights struggle internally or does it also include his later stance confronting the Vietnam War?
