As Mawlid approaches, I would like to share this film with ALL my friends. The Message is a dated movie from 1976, but I think it does a good job outlining the life of our Prophet and Gods messenger, Muhammad (SAWS) and actions of him and his followers, the trials they faced and they hardships theyve endured. Many of them could have easily renounced their beliefs, and given in to the crass ignorance and the foolish, lilliputian and the essentially materialistic idolatry of the Quraysh, Even in the face of intimidation, exile from their homes, hardships in the desert, public humiliation and even the most gruesome of deaths, the Prophet, and his companions and his household persevered, would never sacrifice their belief in the truth for any comfort they would have been afforded by their rivals. This movie made me realize how...spoiled I am, how small I am, how much Ive taken for granted, especially when the Prophet, his household, and his companions, have sacrificed so much, some of them were even martyred. Have a Blessed Mawlid my friends. Remember the Prophet, not for his birth, but for what he stood for, what he represented, and his role as the Prophet and Messenger!
