As Norfolk County Council announce plans for huge cost savings - TopicsExpress

As Norfolk County Council announce plans for huge cost savings that will have a direct impact on the county’s charities, voluntary and third sector services to some of the most vulnerable people, we ask: What does this mean for inclusion and sustainability? Events have overtaken us – our original intention was to look at how we can ensure sustainability in order to promote success through inclusion. With County proposing £6m cuts to services for people with learning and physical disabilities amongst a whole raft of service changes, we are in no doubt that many organisations will find it ever more difficult to remain sustainable, and ensuring our services are as inclusive as we want them to be will be ever more challenging. The question becomes a critical one, not just for organisations but for our service users as pressure on service delivery impacts directly on how people cope from day to day. Individually, the challenges appear daunting – together, we hope to be able to see a way forward. Join us to hear from speakers with extensive experience of successfully promoting inclusion, and contribute to workshops looking to develop creative solutions to today’s challenging environment.
