As Pop was getting his very first bank account squared away, I decided to get some grocery shopping done for my household. I left him with the lady Rose, the manager of the bank who is always so kind to me, so I knew he was in good hands. As I was checking out, the gentleman and his mother who were in line remarked about all of the healthy things I was planning to purchase. Fruits, veggies, salmon, almond milk, etc. We conversed about life and health and the new year as they were checking out. I swear I can converse with anyone of any age, nationality, race, religious beliefs, financial status, etc. Turns out they didnt have enough cash to pay their bill and began to have items voided to lessen the amount owed. I asked the cashier how much was needed and he didnt know the difference between what they owed versus the balance, so I asked the woman and she refused. I assured her that I could help. She went on and on about how she brought the wrong pile of money as she scurried to find change in the bottom of her purse. The gentleman finally conceded and said they were a certain dollar amount short so I handed that to the cashier. The woman seemed to be embarrassed but I joked and told her that she was holding up the line and wasting my time and since my time was valuable I had to pay it forward. :-D The cashier joined in on the joke and said that he needed all the singles. In the end, they were very thankful. It is my prayer the family is okay...
