As-Salaam Alaikum, One of the predecessors saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah upon him) in his dream and said to him, Give me counsel. He said to him, Whoevers two consecutive days are the same is defrauded. Whoevers today is worse than his yesterday is cursed. Whoever has not sought ways to increase his devotional acts is decreasing, and whoever is decreasing, death is better for him. من استوى يوماه فهو مغبون و من كان يومه شرّاً من أمسه فهو ملعون و من لم يتفقد الزيادة في عمله فهو في نقصان و من كان في نقصان فالموت خير له Many times we may find ourselves in a rut because we forget why we are in this world. We are here to worship our Lord, in the widest sense of the concept of worship. We should be struggling each and every day to worship and serve more completely, sincerely and passionately. In the process, we are changing for the better. If we find that we are regressing in our acts and efforts, then we are defeating the purpose of our creation and continued existence. May we all be blessed to be better and to do better. May we all be blessed to advance in our Din, even in the slightest way, from day to day. Imam Zaid Shakir
