As Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2014 have come to pass and the New Year is soon upon us, I want to thank all of you who have come out to celebrate the music of the Beach Boys! The 50th anniversary of both Fun, Fun, Fun and I Get Around was marked by 142 concerts worldwide! What a blessing it is for us to enjoy a profession that is so appreciated by so many all over the world. After more than 50 years of recording and performing live we feel ourselves discovering new places in which to share our music with audiences, hard to believe, but its true. All this started at family Christmas gatherings with music being the uniting force that brought us all together. My mom was the one that brought everyone together and she would love to see that in the Love household, in Tahoe this Christmastime, her legacy continues. I am spending this Christmas with 7 of my children, their spouses and significant others, along with my Grandson Liam. As usual, Jacquelyne has seen to it that all the details of a memorable, well unforgettable Christmas will be had by all. As I look outside, the snow is falling, the wind is howling, but inside it feels like Summer with the warmth of family, friends and the fragrance of Christmas dinner in the oven.....plimented by the smooth voice of Nat King Cole on throughout the house.....I just pause to give thanks and remember that this is the eve of Jesus birth and I am reminded of the miracle of life. One of my many thoughts of thanks is for the efforts of all our band members who strive to do their best to make our music come alive every time we step on stage. Bruce, Scott, John, Tim, Jeff, Randell, thanks for sharing this journey with me. We as musicians and our families sometimes feel a tug at the heart strings being away from our loved ones all too often. But the joy our music brings to people far and wide makes it worthwhile. Our crew have been the unsung heroes (pardon the pun) of what we do. So much effort and commitment is put into making 140 shows happen. Thanks to Mike Csazweicz for the year end video, he has added a lot to our show by virtue of his videos which compliment our songs. Mike Swift did a great job at front of house when Mark Newman took a job to be close to home. Mark is such an artist: a hard act to follow but some great work has been done by Mark Urselli who faced quite a challenge coming into our world. It was also very good to have John Bracken back in action. My cell phone roadie Mike Peters rules the stage with wit and humor as Tara Ricart herds us around with a pert professionalism that is much appreciated. Thanks to Rick Huber for ensuring our production needs were met all over the world! Our fans were well informed of our visits by the ever vigilant Jamie and Heather Of HBPR....Thanks for spreading the word. Speaking of spreading the word, today we speak and share quite a bit differently than in my days of youth, its a virtual sharing of experiences that has changed the world we live in....I have enjoyed communicating with our fans via facebook and the like. Considering my crazy schedule, I have been blessed to have Betty and Jihae assist me with posting as regularly as I can...thanks ladies for keeping it real! Our New Years resolution is to make 2015 the best yet as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of California Girls - the first recording Bruce participated in back in 1965. The Band, Crew, ICM, Organica Media Group and Management all wish everyone a blessed year end and a New Year filled with love and happiness. God knows the world needs it. Though we have led lives which have been primarily filled with fulfilling activity, literally millions are faced with often horrific circumstances. UNICEF has called 2014 a devastating year for the children of the world. I hope we can find a way in the coming year to do whatever we can to make the world a better place for all of us.
