As The Shelter Turns. Dont bother to dvr this episode. It wont be a favorite to many of you, but it still needs to be aired:) A big thank you and shout out needs to be recognized to our behind the scenes crew. Volunteers, first and foremost. Even many that arent there everyday, but support us, help us, dont criticize. Realize our challenges and are instrumental facing them and helping achieve of goal of saving as many lives as we can. Really, we would sink without them. Fosters...no words would be enough to properly explain what a vital part they contribute. Whether us, a rescue group, a shelter anywhere. Try it, I promise, youll be rewarded. Dont say, you cant, youd get too attached. No...you wouldnt. You would feel so good when you know you literally saved a life, then saw it off to a good home. Then...you will be excited to do it all over again! Not to mention, what a gift youll give your children. Paying it forward. They HAVE to be the generation to make and realize the change. Rescue Groups. They are my heroes. I dont mean hoarders. I mean legitimate groups. ALL volunteers. They know their limit, they stick with it. They are just about the animals. It really isnt about them. MCAS is fortunate to not only have stellar rescue partners, we are proud to respect what they do and the lives they save. Then there is the biggest crew of all, the most over looked, our staff. They do jobs most of us, including myself, could never do. Its literally a shitty job for low pay. (Hello, taxpayers, talk to YOUR representatives!). They all arent perfect, the ones that are, outshine any shelter employee anywhere. I do know and have seen, everyone loves our animals. Quickly, the best part of our behind the scenes cast is Care Corporation. We are only allowed to do what we do, with transparency, an open door policy, welcoming of all volunteers, because of them. Im grateful to them that their number 1 priority is the animals. Just like the rest of the behind the scenes crew. The End. P.S. to all that have witnessed the change for the better at MCAS and told our staff, thank you.
