As Your Number Of Days In Affliction, So Shall The Almighty God - TopicsExpress

As Your Number Of Days In Affliction, So Shall The Almighty God Returns His Glory And Favor Back Unto You” (Psalm 90:15). By Divine Providence the Prodigal son has finally found his way back home. But where he had expected the trouble to come from wasn`t where his trouble was coming from. His father whom he had thought to have offended had welcomed him back with a cheerful heart. And went on to call the neighbors and friends to come and celebrate his coming back. At this point we are learning that his senior brother who was not at home maybe for sometimes just come back. And on learning that the get-together going on at their home was set to welcome his younger brother who was lost, and is now found. Mentally, he failed to see any cause to rejoice; instead he began to lose his temper and refused to enter their compound. And dramatically, what should have been a big celebration as their father had planned, now begins to turn into a family feud. We have learnt from the first part of this story that the father`s motive in calling the neighbors and friends together is to use the party to cover up the shame which his younger son had brought to the family. And here the person, who is revealing to the outsiders that all is not well in the family, was the same family member. (Somebody should understand that one reason why it seems so hard to FORGIVE some certain people. Is that most people could not believe that someone whom they have trusted and were able to confide their secrets were the same people that would go out to reveal them to others.) And imagine how it will look like when it was your own biological brother that is declaring war against you! God knows that it is not always too easy to Forgive and Forget, and yet He says, that we must FORGIVE just like the father of the Prodigal son had followed to forgive. Because of the healing power that is released whenever there is this Forgiveness in obedience to His Word. The inability of the senior brother of the Prodigal son to enter into the compound after their servants have revealed to him what was going on. Had forced the father to abandon his guests and come out to melt down the hardness of his first son`s heart. And, it takes good communication…. We could read to believe that after his first son had begun to accuse him of partiality on the ground that he has been with the father all these whiles. And there have never been any of his birthdays that have been celebrated to attract the outsiders. And now that his way-ward son has finally come back, there is this cause of celebration. From the side of the father who has so many things going on in his brain, he just refused to pick up words; and chose to ignore the accusation and began to address the current issue in order to unite his family. And at this point, he began to remind his first son who would have been compassionate by now, to understand that everything in this family has been his. And that whatever he has never gotten from him as his father was not the father`s fault. It was entirely his personal fault, because the law of receiving is centered on asking first (Mathew 7:7). And it is good for him to see that his younger brother deserves mercy. And where does he want his brother to turn to in this moment of affliction? If the ordinary animals could turn to trees to scratch their bodies when their bodies do irritate them, why won`t a living being capable of reasoning protect his or her neighbors regardless of their statues?
