As Zimbabwe draws closer to its 34th Independence anniversary,I - TopicsExpress

As Zimbabwe draws closer to its 34th Independence anniversary,I have been thinking whether it is really necessary to celebrate. The basic food prices are beyond reach for the ordinary citizenry. There is no clean running water in households.Zimbabwe Electricity is Sometimes Available(ZESA).The quality of health care has deteriorated, thanks to Zanu Pf and Cuthbert Dube.Industry is shrinking by the day, companies are shutting down weekly, job losses is now the in-thing.Over 20 000 students are graduating every year faced with a shrunk managed economy by Zanu Pf.Is it what the gallant sons and daughters of Zimbabwe died for?Only the politically connected few are enjoying the fruits of independence.Corruption is now societys second nature.Look East policy we are told.It is them who cry loudest when they are denied visas to travel to Europe and yet they condemn whites at any given opportunity,be it at the burial of so called heroes or independence celebrations. They tell us to look East while they drive the latest Benz from Germany. They think we are stupid. We are now a net exporter of skills to other countries.Zanu Pf has crooked humanity for 34 years. Our police force is bent on milking the public at road blocks and beating opposition members than upholding the law. They are busy trying to force motorists to buy ZBC licences so that the Muchecheteres could be guaranteed their hefty salaries. Is the police force now the ZBC licensing Inspectorate. Why are they not moving from house to house in search of those licenses.Their,ZBC coverage shows that we are not yet independent save for a few fat cows.It is my considered opinion that Ian Smith was far much better than our brothers and sisters who liberated us.I say this with a heavy heart and am not apologetic at all.Zanu Pf has destroyed our aspirations. We are not independent at all.Thank you for taking the country backwards.Leo Dhlakama
