As a Geologist by training from Glasgow University in Scotland, UK, and also International Travel Consultant qualified from IATA/UFTAA, Montreal, Canada, it is my pleasure to welcome you to my homeland, Kuching, Sarawak, East Malaysia. With my guiding experience and in-depth knowledge of my home region, I would be interested to assist you when you visit Kuching. Being an ecotourism enthusiast, I am focusing mainly on culture, adventure and nature in Sarawak which include the following ‘world-class’ places of ecotourism interest, but rarely made known to the rest of the world. 1. Kubah National Park – One of the world’s richest palm habitats with nearly one hundred palm species found in an area of just over 22 sq.km. 2. Gunung Gading National Park – World’s largest flower, the Rafflesia flower which can grow up to a meter in diameter. 3. Bako National Park – Home to the rare proboscis monkeys found only in Borneo and no where else on Earth. 4. Fairy Cave – In the process of applying for World Heritage Site. In Sarawak, the Monophyllaea singularis (one-leaf plant) is only found growing on the limestone around this area. 5. Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre – Centre for the study of orang utan (found only in Borneo & Sumatra in their natural habitat) biology & behavior. 6. Native Bidayuh Longhouse / Malay Fishing Village Homestay - Stay with Bidayuh / Malay host families to experience their traditional ways of life which have been preserved for generations. Should you require my assistance or advice, please do not hesitate to contact me or email me at : peterha58@hotmail
