As a Man Ladies, Id like to share something. I didnt expect it but when you got pregnant, a switch went on inside of me. My eyes fropped to your belly and all I could think of is, Nothing in the world matters more than that new life. Thats what it was for me. All my previous values for desiring fulfillment disappeared, and the only thing that mattered was to see this new creation come into the world, to raise it up, and to see the light. Its the best I can do to describe the immeasurable in that moment. Im a Pro-Choice guy, too. It is a tremendous conflict and a great source of sadness and pain. At the same time, this is just as much about love as it is about bringing a new life into the world. I cannot force you to love me. I cannot force you to bring a new life into this world. You are the gatekeeper to new life and it is your right, God-given. It has been so long since before weve ever been (this) civilized. Recently, I found myself wondering why they dont collect babies since theyre so gung-ho on test-tube babies. So much waste in the world. So much sadness and loneliness, too. And so many opportunities to fill those holes. Just a change in how weve always done things. God bless all the children, all the women, and lift the burden of their guilt if they carry any. I know later in life we often all do.
