As a Photographer, and Gallery Manager, Ive considered the genre often. One of mine from a number of years ago is below. Weve been in discussion about the merits of Still Life, and what seems to be a decline in the number of Photographers who take Still Life images. Is it because studio photography (inherent to the traditional still life image) is in decline? Because photography has become more of a spontaneous art form and still lifes take time and consideration? I am putting this out there in light of the response were seeing to our current call for entry for Marvelous Things (vtphotoworkplace). I would love to hear your thoughts!
