As a Picasso-file, it was a treat to visit the finally renovated Picasso Museum in Paris after many years of stalls and inside conflicts and the like. I froze waiting for almost an hour to get in but it was well worth it. I got to see so much more aspects of his works and especially his personal favorites which he did not sell and eventually donated to this Museum. I note self-portraits and sketches, more intimate paintings in the fifties and sixties of his loves, Olga and Jacqueline, more loving paintings of his children with the latter, more affection like The Kiss which was my favorite. His tools and his painting chair was there too. Ive always been delighted to see children hustled into Parisian museums and given lectures and to see their animated responses. One wishes there were more of that in our country. There are several rooms showing his own personal collection of works by fellow painters. Joan Miros Spanish woman stands out. And his collection of African masks and statues is a nod to their being a source of inspiration for him. If you get a chance in Paris, dont miss this beautiful museum and the works of an influential contemporary artist of the 20th century.
