As a Theoretical Physicist myself, I feel a duty to answering something that has pestered me for a few weeks now. We do not have all the answers. Science is a fickle friend, but what it has done is shown us that reality is evidence of everything and that anything purely perceptional is not reality. Basically this means that anything we can see, touch, hear, smell etc etc is reality. Anything that is perceptional (i.e God) has not been proven nor dis proven. So in short, I can not tell you God does not exist, But equally you can not tell me he does with any certainty what so ever. Ergo Sciences Logic teaches us that every human being should really be Agnostic, But we are not, and this is because Human emotions cloud Judgement very often and lets us believe what we want.... Not what really is.
