As a classical music aficionado, I am disturbed by some of the responses Ive read. Reading only partway through I dont think anyone appreciates one simple fact. Rachmaninovs 3rd is one of the hardest piano concertos in the world to play, if not the hardest, like another poster said. This PrettyGirl & BeautufulWoman & ExcellentFemale is nothing short of amazing. What a Talent&Genius!! Made even more amazing that she doesnt need use any sheet musicnotes. Olga Kern is one of an increasing number who can play this technically challenging tour de force with aplomb. Obviously one must be a born virtuoso even to consider performing something on this exalted a level. However, these tremendous virtuoso vehicles tend to play themselves once one has mastered the notes. I would love to hear what this young women might make of -- let us say -- the Mozart 9th, 14th, 20th, 23rd, or 27th, the Beethoven Fourth, the Schumann, either of the Brahms concerti -- or even Nights in the Gardens of Spain. Does she have great depth of insight, a vivid imagination, and the courage -- as Horowitz, Gould, Shura Cherkassky had and Lang Lang and Pletnev have in spades -- performance interpretation to play with supreme individuality. Take all from Minute 12.15. Up to there till 13.33 meanings are divided. Okay, please compare, Rachmaninoff himself, Horowitz, Argerich...and you will understand: One street to go by score, but each street has multiple ways to go...at 11.05 Argerich, 9.26 the Master himself, 11.45 Horowitz... She is very expressive, I like this. But do you have have seen Horowitz? Many wrong Noten, okay, but his movements légères? Argerich, total passion, I love this woman...and Rachmaninoff himself ? Oh god, this man had a technique, no body can reach, certainly...why decide, there are interpretations and wonderful interpreters and/ or creators, why all compare, this is human behaviour, but not the behaviour of spirits, and shouldnt we all be spirits ? Shouldnt we all behave like Buddha ? Let the things go, where is compassion there is no false route!! There are only a few people on earth who can play this concerto and we should them all admire. From my own pianistic career I can say if you play oeuvres like this one, you are from beginning in a bubble of trance and you dont realize anymore if there is anybody out there...This is the moment where magic begins. And I am very happy for every video on YouTube which enriches our lives like this one~~*^ThankQ^*~~Attention&Listening https://youtube/watch?v=AapjpeqmviM
