As a first responder of that day, and the following 4 months working search and recovery on the pile, as a former firefighter, this day holds a very solumn meaning for me. Over the last 13 yrs, many 1st responders have died by the hundreds as a result of sickness and disease associated with the events of 9/11. I pray everyday for the victims of this tragic event. And I pray for my Brothers who gave their lives to save the lives of thousands. I consider myself one of the lucky ones, having survived cancer 3 times and 2 heart attacks due to this event. I will never forget their sacrifice. They died with honor, and I will always, for the rest of my life, honor their memory.
