As a follow-up to Richard Killeens recent post concerning this still standing Littleton building. It was train station in Littleton before the brick station was built. Info from The State magazine, Vol 54, No 10, March 1987-Mr and Mrs Wiley Bowers bought this house in 1915/1916 and moved into it from Bowers Crossroads. Mr Bowers had dirt brought in to build up the lot and built his garage(yet still standing) in their backyard. At the time this article was published it stated mr and Mrs Julian of Whiteville, NC owned the property. The freight depot is in the right hand background. I have a yet to be posted photo of a young mail carrier in Littleton standing in front of a town building. There is a street lamp in the photo identical to the one shown here-the young man, John Leach Skinner, would become my grandfather. Enjoy and share, Stephen/OG
