As a follow up to my earlier post, and in the noble spirit of making the world a better place, I have devised a formula/decision tree for helping people to know whether or not it is acceptable to start and/or participate in the wave at a professional baseball game: 1. Are you cheering for the visiting team? If yes, skip to number 4. If no, continue. 2. Is it in the first inning? If yes, skip to number4, if no continue. 3. Is your team losing by more than 15 minus the number of innings remaining? If no, skip to number 4, if yes, then go ahead and act like an idiot. Also skip to step four if you are unable to perform this calculation. 4. No, it is unacceptable to do the wave while watching a professional baseball game, especially while watching a road game, or while watching your team win a game, or while watching a close game, or in the first inning. Call your dad and ask him why he failed to teach you how to act like a decent person in public at a baseball game...and if you happen to drive please stay out of the left lane. If you do this in Arlington you are just proving Josh Hamilton right when he says this isnt a baseball town.
