As a former 911 Operator/Emergency Dispatcher, I frequently teach my kids safety lessons and periodically test them with scenarios. Today, I was told by two people who work with kids everyday that Kiah and Dayton were able to articulate the clearest and best safety plans they have ever heard. (Making me ONE PROUD MAMA!!) Take the time to work with your kids. Make sure they know your address and what to do in the event of an emergency! Think of scenarios. Teach them how to locate landmarks and look for location clues in case their emergency isnt at home. Then practice, practice, practice! We all hope they wont ever need it, but if they do, youll be glad you did.
