As a former General Secretary of NUPENG and Deputy President - TopicsExpress

As a former General Secretary of NUPENG and Deputy President of NLC, how would you react to the rising cases of oil theft, and fuel scarcity? The Federal Government should step up efforts to secure the oil pipelines. We should not allow vandals and some cabals to cripple the oil sector. Where there is a will, there will always be a way. Oil is crucial to the nation’s economy, whatever strategy it will take, let the president and his advisers quickly fashion out appropriate measures to checkmate these economic saboteurs. As for fuel scarcity, if the refineries are performing optimally, the nation will be saved the agony of recurring fuel scarcity. We have two options to solve the problem, get the refineries to be working or you privatise. But if you are privatizing, there are many factors to be taken into consideration, it is not something you rush. You have to be very careful and meticulous, otherwise, you cause more problems.
