As a former power lineman let me try and explain how storm trouble works. Before trucks are sent out they go to a priority list. This is a list of people or places that have special needs. Such as hospitals, fire departments, assisted living centers, people on oxygen, feeding machines ,etc.. Still before they send the trucks out they have to ride out the line. This is to pin point where the trouble is. This can be as simple as a fuse that has blown to lines and poles being on the ground. Then the fun begins. 2 houses side by side. One has power the other doesnt. Chances are they are on different circuits. Also you have to make repairs from point A to point B. Not point A to point D then point B. Also please know these men are working their butts off to restore power. And they are away from their families!Also know that when you see them eating chances are it may have been 8-12 since the last time they have eaten. Just try and be patient with them and having no power. When hurricane Hugo hit in 89 I was putting peoples power on that had been without power for 1-2 months! So we really dont have it that bad.
