As a healthcare worker I have to say something about the backlash that our local hospital is getting regarding the handling of the Ebola patients . Do you really think any hospital in the USA is truly prepared for this disease ? We train , have protocols but we have never been faced with something like this here in America . I pray for the healthcare worker who has contracted this terrible disease and her family and all the health are workers who are trying their best to save her life and contain this disease . I worked in the ER many years ago and you see all kinda of stuff . A hospital I worked at had one of the first positive HIV patients we knew of in the area - I worked with that patient in the ER never crossed my mind that it could be something a deadly as HIV . Healthcare workers do their best in very stressful situations that none of you out side of healthcare would understand . So have some compassion and understanding for those involved and pray for them . Do you really think anyone wanted to make a mistake and contract or spread this disease ?? Think about it .
