As a large manufacturer of heating and plumbing products, the company are looking to recruit a knowledgeable Technical Design & Support Manager to lead their technical support team. You will have a proven background within the plumbing/heating industry. Commutable From: Sheffield, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, York Salary: £ 45,000 to £ 48,000 p.a + Car + Company/Personal Performance Related Bonus Suitable for: Design Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer The Role Responsible for the management and development of the technical design and support team/function within the company Establish and maintain a set of Key Performance Indicators aimed at continuously monitoring and improving technical support and customer service Cultivate an office environment where the team feel motivated and empowered towards continuous improvement Establish and maintain systems of work ensuring best in industry in capability, quality, presentation and output Manage the technical department budgets ensuring budget targets are hit and maintained to acceptable levels Ensuring all product quotes dispatched from the office are logged, tracked and followed up Ensure all work in the department is managed and reported appropriately and within the systems established Provide technical support via the department for all related products The Person Relevant technical background/qualification e.g. plumbing and/or heating engineer or mechanical and electrical services engineer, probably having 5 years experience in a technical role Technical knowledge on heating systems, sizing and design Must be able to lead, motivate and develop a team of direct reports and be a good delegator Likely to be a structured and systems thinker Will be well organised with an attention to detail and an ability to manage and control budgets Should have a good grasp of the concept of good customer service and how to deal with both trade and consumer customers Must have a driving licence and be willing and able to travel and work away from home for short durations Must be computer and IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office as a minimum.
