As a lot of you know, I worked for a few years for the City of Gold Beach. I was able to see the City Council in action and learned so much. I have already said I wish I could vote, but since I cant, Im gonna voice my choices here. For position #1 Melinda McVey is running unopposed. She is a long-time resident of Gold Beach and understands our city needs growth to stay alive but we dont want big town politicians. Position #3 my vote would go to Becky Campbell. Becky moved here two years ago. Im lucky to call her my friend. She listens carefully and makes decisions based on the right reasons, not from emotion or her own agenda. Position #5 is also running unopposed. Tamie Kaufman was raised here in Gold Beach. She went to school here, she listens to the concerns people have and she isnt afraid to ask the tough questions or disagree if its needed. Dont vote for somebody just because... And if someone asks you to do a write-in, please investigate further to find out why they arent on the ballot. Honesty and integrity is important from the very start and the 3 candidates I support live those qualities.
