As a man of the British National Party, when Prime Minister David Cameron states that he will bypass Parliament when deciding to go to war, I honour the memory of Robin Cook, a Labour man who stood up for principle and gave up his position as Foreign Secretary because he thought like we think that the 2003 invasion of Iraq was illegal. In January 2007, a headstone was erected in The Grange, Edinburgh Cemetery, where Cook is buried, bearing the epitaph: "I may not have succeeded in halting the war, but I did secure the right of parliament to decide on war.
