As a manager in retail i can totally relate. Like i told the original poster of this awesome article, yelling profanity and demeaning people will not get you anywhere. especially in my store, except you get an invitation to see yourself out. as the nice little pregnant girl the other day, when she chose to cuss up a storm in front a store full of customers, or the gentleman who comes in every day with an awesome group of guys, who chose to use profanity with three ladies present, ask him what happened. ill tell you, he got the "Brenda glare" dont know what that is, ask Adam McNichol, Velma Galvin, or anyone else who knows me well... he hasnt said anything since. the customer is right in most cases, and i will accomadate them to a point, but they also have to understand that we are humans, who make mistakes. did i prepay your pump 2 seconds after you walked out the door? probably not... did i forget to check the coffee for the eighteenth time in the last twenty minutes? probably. but it doesnt give you a right to talk down to me or my staff... the point is, be nice, be kind, and be patient. i know that in a world for of RIGHT NOW thats hard to do, but get used to it. not everything runs on your clock. we run on a much bigger, meaningful clock. at least i do, and i wont budge from it... :)
