As a martial artist that will do anything to survive . Who has taught what many think are extreme techniques in seminar. There purpose if survival and real conflict. Yesterday in a public forum at a tournament self defense competition I witness a grown male black belt spit in the face of his uke as part of his defense technique . Have we as martial artists sunk so low that we view this as ok. Is this the image we want displayed to the public of who we are. When does except acne become endorsement. I thought to my self as his scores were raised I would have but one score for him a big fat zero . Saddly this disresoectfull disgusting unsanitary demo was saddly observed by parents and teachers alike . Question swilled all around us. Is that exceptable is that what you are going to teach my children . Now the next competitor has to step in his saliva on and on. Am I alone here to think that martial arts is being dragged into the gutter. Is there nothing that the unskilled will not do to shock and Demi ish our great honorable art .
