As a member of the Jay County Community Band you are invited to tell Arts Place about how our Portland Center works for you and improvements that you think should be considered. The board of Arts Place is at the beginning phase of planning for a capital project that will make major improvements to the Portland Center. The process is being led by our Portland Center Building Committee, with Jeff Steed as the chair. If your schedule allows, we ask you to attend a planning session for MusicWorks students and parents on Wednesday, January 28th from 5 to 6 p.m. in the boardroom. The session will be facilitated by Sara Peterson, the planning consultant who facilitated our current strategic plan. Our architects, Bob Taylor and Bruce Everetts of Taylor & Associates, will be present for the meeting to hear your thoughts. We’ll provide some light refreshments. If the session above doesn’t make sense for your situation, we also have a community meeting coming up on Wednesday, January 28th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. here at the Portland Center. You are welcome to attend that session whether or not you attend the MusicWorks student and parent session. Your response one way or the other will be very much appreciated.
