As a mother do you ever feel like the things you do dont matter? To me, it sometimes feels like the things I do are thankless and go unnoticed. So much of mothering is found in the daily tasks that seem trifle. Day after day we care for our loved ones with all of our hearts, washing dishes, doing laundry, making dinner.... This quote speaks to me and encourages me in so many ways and makes me realize that the things we do that feel in vain are never in vain. What more appropriate word could God have said to Mary as Jesus was growing up: Take courage, young mother, you build more than you see. And so it is with every one of us. Nothing you do is a trifle if you do it in the name of God. He will shake heaven and earth to fill your labor with splendor. Take courage, you build more than you see John Piper
