As a mother the hardest lesson to teach my little one is that true - TopicsExpress

As a mother the hardest lesson to teach my little one is that true joy comes from giving and that its far more rewarding than that of receiving. I want them to experiance this for themselves and now that my oldest is two and understands that there is somthing exciting inside a pretty wrapped up box its the ideal time to expose him to reward of kindness. Started by a friend and I we have recognised that there are people who are in need and dont have the voices to ask as well as those who want to desperatly give but dont see an open channel. We decided to start by bridging the gap between the two and in doing so, help ease the stress that many feel daily brought on by life and its challenges. We have found, in a small village, a place the called Gamudubu Childcare Trust which takes care of the little ones from the the surrounding villages whom have been or whos loved one have been affected by HIV and Aids. These villages are Gamudubu, Monoko, Makovana, Makankge from which 237 children are gathered together, 22 of these are in permanent care. We feel these should take top priority because, although they are receiving a small meal a day and have a small pre-school facility, they come home to a blanket on the floor in their community hall each night. We ask for assistance in helping this trust in any way you can. We have identified certain essentials as well as individuals that require direct and urgent assistance. I have listed them below. Our plan is to have a Christmas party on the 6th of December from 9.30 – 11.30am whereby we give our children the opportunity to give each child a Christmas gift and a party pack. In doing so we hope these children experience pleasure and joy all while our little ones learn that real joy is not self-seeking but rather the reward lies in kindness for others. Essentials are: Bed linen for these little ones Washing powder or soap as the volunteers have taken it upon themselves to ensure all children are bathed daily as well as the little cloths they have. Nappies. There is one disabled girl who is 12 and is in dire need of Large nappies A wheelchair- this very same little girl needs a child wheel chair desperately for mobility and freedom. I have researched the price and a new one is round P9,500.00 unless we are able to source a 2nd hand one is excellent condition. Any old clothes Pre-school educational books and toys Thank you for any help you provide us. We hope you can join us on the day and if there is anything else we can do or assist you with please contact us. Desiree Garden: 72648051 Charlotte Watkins:76314314
