As a new work week commences, I reflect back on the weekend past... Saturday: 2 games and a total of 7 hours at the rink. Sunday: practice and then a road game in Delmont. 7 team games coached and the month of October is not even over. Lots more games in Nov, Dec, Jan, etc. Shoutout to SHAHA Girls U14: The game on Sunday in Delmont was physical and was getting chippy . The scoreboard really did not matter to me. I saw a group of young ladies skate with DETERMINATION, HEART, AND CHARACTER. After the game was over, one of the players had a very sad look on her face. I asked her if everything was ok and she nodded but still looked sad. I asked her what was wrong. She said she was hungry. I looked at her and announced that one of the moms had cookies for the team. The locker room exploded with laughter and smiles.... some of the players went out for pizza after the game. A nice way to end a weekend of hockey. Lets do it again next weekend in Armstrong.
