As a past recipient of The James Patterson Pageturner Award, I am a living example of how this authors generousity kept my little old literacy endeavors afloat. His check of $5,000 to me helped keep my Girlfriend Weekend going when my corporate sponsorship dropped out at the eleventh hour. Beauty and the Book would have been long gone if I had not had this financial help to keep my literacy missions going. Thank you James Patterson. Dolly Parton, my idol also won that year for her Dolly Parton Imagination Library which made it extra special for me. I have never and will never forget how you helped this little ole hairdressing bookseller out of a financial pinch.
