As a person who lives by a very strict schedule most of the time, snow is a four-letter word--it interrupts the schedule! The Lord convicted me this morning with the reminder that This is the day I have made--just rejoice and be glad in it because I scheduled this day before the foundations of the world were fashioned. [translation mine] So I decided to enjoy the opportunity to get some things done at home. Imagine my horror at hearing about school systems in the deeper South who spent the night WITH THEIR STUDENTS--IN A GYM. I was envisioning spending a Friday study hall (no homework days) with a classroom full of antsy students who just want to get out and play in the snow--without gloves, hats, and scarves. Did the cafeteria workers stay overnight too? Okay, enough, get to those closets.
