As a person who studies intercultural communication, I have been against any racist & discriminatory language. Today, I learned from the news that theres a phrase that is commonly used in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong to stigmatize Thai people and I am not sure if this is true. I have lived in this region for almost five years and never heard of it. Of course, nobody will say it to my face. But I just want to share that I am proud of being THAI and please DO THAI AND BE THAI TO ME as Thai means freedom and my culture values conscientiousness, something that is lacking these days!
