As a reminder, Eastern National, a partner with the National Park Service, would like to invite you to meet author Dave Powell on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. He has authored multiple books, including The Maps of Chickamauga, Failure in the Saddle, and most recently, The Chickamauga Campaign: A Mad and Irregular Battle, from the Crossing of the Tennessee River through the Second Day, August 22 –September 19, 1863. Powells book signing will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. He will also be conducting a special program entitled Bragg vs. Rosecrans: Contrasts in Command at 1 p.m. in the visitor center. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: David Powell graduated in 1983 from the Virginia Military Institute with a B. A. in History. He leads tours through Chickamauga Battlefield on a regular basis. In 2010, he received the Richard B. Harwell award from the Atlanta Civil War Round table.
