As a result of the recent package thefts, today we sent out an Alert Brookline Message to many of the Towns residents in the area we have seen the largest volume of thefts. Here is what was sent. Hello I am Lt. Philip Harrington this is a recorded message from the Brookline Police Department. Since January we have seen an increase in delivered packages being stolen from residences in your area, especially from apartment buildings. You can help us prevent this from occurring by bringing any packages you observe in an unsecured vestibule into a secured area of the building. You can also help by scheduling your package delivery at a time someone can receive it and sign for it. We have stepped up patrols in your area and working together we hope to end this crime.
