As a retired cop and a musician, this absolutely inflames me. Is there more to this incident that was not recorded? As a police supervisor, and later, a police chief; I always trained officers to utilize the golden rule and treat people with dignity and respect. I had no use for ego driven badge heavy cops, and had no problem firing those who misused their authority. One good rule of thumb for officers: KNOW THE GOOD GUYS FROM THE BAD GUYS!Being a sworn law enforcement officer is a tremendous honor, a sacred duty and privilege; We are servants of the people and we need to be worthy of their trust and support! It seems to me that there are a lot of crimes near and around subway areas that could use some good police attention. Let the musicians put a smile on the faces of those commuters who are probably stressed out and go catch some bad guys! Unless I am missing something, this officer seems to be out of line. By the way, I love and greatly admire street musicians!
