As a rule I generally dont post things on FB announcing that im out of state. Since our house is occupied and safe right now I had to post this experience that just ground my gears... Eileen Herron Kohl & I are in Daytona Beach and just stopped for lunch at a Bubba Gumps restaurant. Part of the routine is that while your food is being prepared your server comes and asks you trivia questions about the movie. The young couple near us was asked the following: What presidents did Forrest Gump meet? They were clueless (ok, maybe they never saw the movie). The server tried to help them out ... His clue - They were presidents during the Vietnam War... Still clueless, one of them blurts out Roosevelt? Uhhhh no, yet another clue from the server... One of these presidents was assassinated in Dallas Texas..... Cricket Cricket... Still trying to be a help the server said, He was married to a woman named Jackie Onassis ... Nothing. It continued (after he revealed that this president was JFK - this couple probably envisioned a guy named Jay F Kay.) The other president had a middle name Baines the server offered. --- deer in headlights... His initials were LBJ the server continued... Mouth breathing .... Finally the server told them it was president Johnson. This was a young, well-dressed couple in their late 20s early 30s. Is this what our schools are producing? Good Grief!
