As a sighted privileged Deaf person, I do not believe Deaf people - TopicsExpress

As a sighted privileged Deaf person, I do not believe Deaf people are a priority over DeafBlind folks that are really present in our Deaf* community. Sighted savourism is the concept of making us feel good by helping others who look alike them that, in reality, hurt DeafBlind folks who feel neglected that they are able to help too. Deaf experience and DeafBlind experience are not same thing, and how we need to do by this fact is to do the intentional practice of exchanging needs with each others experiences for equal benefit, as I believe this is a sign of community care. Here is the ASL video that DeafBlind folks speak out about sighted savourism.
