As a single parent, these last few days have been very hectic. Attempting to get my daughters uniforms at the last minute (she got approved for a private school at the last minute), has been CRAZY! Running from old navys in different cities has been the worst, but little by little I found her size in her uniform. Going from store to store to make sure she had the shoes and bookbag she wanted, has literally given me a headache lol. She had open house yesterday (school starts tomorrow) and I took her school supply shopping. I didnt make it into the shop, so I pushed my clients to today. I hated to do it, but my kid comes first. I woke up late this morning (exhausted), and I had to get her to her hair appointment at 9 am. Again, I pushed my clients back today and told them come after 12 because my daughter comes first. I arrived at her beauticians shop (in Greensboro) and she asked me, Where do you work in High Point? I told her where and told her its about a 30 min drive. She said you go ahead to work and Ill drive her out there to your shop when we get done. I felt a weight lift off my my shoulder. What am I saying? Some of us single mothers and fathers make it look easy but only if you knew! Im grateful to be able to do everything for my daughter WITHOUT COMPLAINING. If you have children in a 2 parent home, be grateful. For those who pull the weight by yourselves, I CELEBRATE YOU and encourage you to keep pushing. God said He will never put more us than we can bare. Yes its been 12 years for me holding it down, but my kid hasnt missed a beat and Im grateful. I CHALLENGE YOU to take the time to celebrate a single mother/father that you know today that has been holding it down raising their kid(s) alone!! Sometimes they need to hear it. I love you all and lets keep pushing. #singleparentlife P.s. Dont be deep on my post telling me God is/was with us single parents. We know that!!
