Dear friends, It has been a very painful journey for me & my wife’s since our motorcycle accident in downtown Houston. The uninsured driver that hit us has turned our lives upside down. The accident ripped up our bodies and put us in the hospital with multiple surgeries. We required titanium rods & plates to repair our broken femurs & feet. The total cost of this accident is still adding up but the impact will run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. The hospital bills are already over $200,000 but there is also the financial strain of day to day living expenses without an income. Unfortunately, we were forced to close the doors of our business and have lost many clients since we had to re-locate and cannot work or take care of each other due to our injuries. Through our team of attorneys we have learned we will be unable to sue the uninsured driver for any money to pay hospital bills & such since the young driver has nothing of value and is considered “Judgement Proof” by the State of Texas. To make things worse, me & my wife did not have health insurance or full coverage insurance on the motorcycle we were driving. We only had the state required minimum liability insurance on our scooter (small moped type motorcycle for downtown use) which did not include personal liability insurance coverage, etc. It’s amazing how your life can change in a instant. One minute your on your way to Walmart and the next your in the hospital with metal in your body. Your life can be turned upside down before you realize its happened. Life doesn’t care who you are or where you come from. Life doesn’t care if your a US National Champion of Parachuting, that you are a Special Operations soldier or that you’ve landed a small high performance parachute on the summit of Europe’s highest mountain. It doesn’t care how many lives you have changed along the way or you’ve helped pioneer a sport. Life doesn’t care if your 19 or 43, male or female, American or European. Life can change in a minute...for better or worse. We are VERY thankful for the people from around the world who have pledged their support to our fundraiser thus far but we still need your help & assistance now.
